This is how I get down DESIGN - WEB

Jim Russell Comps
Web Design - Jim Russell Racing
Redesign and rebranding of Jim Russell Racing Driver School web site. The site is a hybrid, with very minor flash, and a full CMS backend.

Disney Comps
Web Design - Disney Bedtime Stories
Design for the Disney and Adam Sandler movie "Bedtime Stories." Each Section was designed to represent one of the main story lines in the movie. Given the turnaround time, and lack of resources, due to the fact that the movie was still in production, I was really happy with the final outcome.

Site: Site is no longer live... Boooooo! :(
Role: Art Direction, Design, and some Flash production

Duh Technologies Comps
Web Design - Duh Technologies
Web concept for Duh Technologies. Can't really talk about this, but I thought the design was worth showing ;)

VW Comps
Web Design - VW Nav Companion
We went through several rounds of refinement once a direction was selected, but I wanted to show the first round of comps, where I felt we had some strong ideas that weren't chosen. The same basic concept was the base for all 3 designs, but with some fairly different methods of execution. Check out the comps then go see where we ended up.

Pirates Exhibit Comps
Web Design - Pirate Exhibit from AEG & Nat Geo
I posted things in chronological order from top to bottom, on this page; otherwise this might be at the top. I think this is still one of my favorites. We didn't have a lot of time or budget, but the client really let us go creatively. Every sections scene was designed and built from scratch using stock textures and items masked out of stock photography. To this day, this is probably the most Photoshop work I have ever done on a site. This design is a true testament to the unique and rich quality achievable, with stock, if you get really creative and burn most of your budget in Photoshop ;). I think most would be shocked to see my asset folder and the unexpected places many of the items in the scenes came from.

Site Notes: The client was provided the resource files, so I am not responsible for the ridiculous logo change or other potential design snafus that happen when you hand over resource files... LOL ;)... See comps for original design intentions.
Role: Art Direction, Design, Web & Flash Development, as well as Sound & Video Editing as it pertained to Flash Dev
Credits: Even though this was a bit of a one man show, because of budget and time constraints, I owe thanks to Dave Shcell, and Josh Wills for pushing me and consulting with me on design. I also owe thanks to Sharon Bloom for her incredible managment of the account.

Gallavants Comps
Web Design - Gallavants
I think Dave and I both felt the whimsical nature of my design was right on, given that our target audience was young children. I think we both felt the client would probably pick my design and felt good about that. However, to our surprise, the client said that my design reminded them of some toy venture of theirs that went horribly wrong and selected Dave’s design. I took Dave’s comps and ran with the client revisions, and we ended up with a project that we both still felt captured the essence of whimsy and fun we were after. See my original comps below, and then check out the final product.

Gallavants Comps
Web Design - King Tut
Web design for the King Tut Exhibit. The Shear volume of the content on this site really demanded a well-organized and content rich approach, but given the subject it needed a rich design as well. I worked closely with the dev team to assure that both needs were met and that the design integrity was maintained, even as the site degraded. The site is a Flash hybrid that falls back on other technologies when the Flash player isn't present... Nice work Dev team, you know who you are ;).
